AI Visibility Measurement: Where Is Your Brand in AI Answers?
AI visibility measurement is a monitoring service that regularly records how questions about your sector are answered on AI platforms and reports your brand's mention rate, how often it is cited as a source and where it stands against competitors. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Bing Copilot are tracked as standard. Measurement repeats every month with the same question set, so change rests on real data.
// Who is AI visibility measurement for?
AI visibility measurement is for businesses that do not know where they stand in AI answers, or that want to see the effect of work they have done in numbers. AI answers vary by person, time and platform; a single try misleads, and only regular measurement with the same method is reliable. If any of the following sounds familiar, you are on the right page.
- You asked ChatGPT once and did not appear, but there is no regular data
- You do not know how often competitors are mentioned in AI answers
- The marketing report has no line for AI visibility
- You paid for an AI optimization project and cannot measure whether it worked
We apply the same measurement method to a single-service local firm and a multi-product national brand; only the number of questions and platforms change.
// What is included and what is not
Measurement runs as a monthly monitoring plan; a one-off status measurement is also available. The table below lists what each includes and what stays outside, line by line. This service only measures and reports; the content, access and schema work that raises visibility are separate services, and the report says which one is needed.
| Work | One-off measurement | Monthly monitoring |
|---|---|---|
| Question set defined with you (30 to 100 questions) | Included | Included |
| Question-level answer recording on 5 platforms | Included | Included |
| Brand mention rate and source citation frequency | Included | Included |
| Comparison with 3 competitors | Included | Included |
| List of wrong or outdated information in answers | Included | Included |
| Separating AI-driven visits in analytics | Included | Included |
| Monthly comparative report and trend chart | Excluded | Included |
| Recommendation list (which content is missing for which question) | Excluded | Included |
| Implementing content, access and schema changes | Excluded | Priced separately |
| More than 100 questions or extra platforms | Priced separately | Priced separately |
| Classic rank tracking | Excluded | Excluded |
The improvement work is done under AI search optimization; measurement is the foundation of that work too.
// How does it work and how long does it take?
The first measurement takes 3 to 5 business days after the question set is approved; on monthly monitoring it repeats on the same schedule every month. Because answers change from day to day, every question is asked 3 times per measurement period and averaged, so a one-off fluke does not distort the report. The report is delivered in the first week of each month.
Question set (1 to 2 days)
30 to 100 questions your customers might ask are defined with you, grouped as commercial, informational and comparison
Measurement (2 to 3 days)
Every question is asked 3 times on 5 platforms; brands mentioned, sources shown and order are recorded
Analysis (1 day)
Mention rate, source frequency, competitor gap and the wrong-information list are produced
Report (monthly)
Trend chart, question-level table and recommendation list are delivered
// How is the price determined?
Three variables set the price: number of questions, number of platforms and number of competitors. A service firm tracked with 30 questions and 3 competitors and an e-commerce brand tracked with 100 questions and 8 competitors do not carry the same measurement load, so we quote from the question set rather than a fixed list. A 10-question sample measurement is free and the quote is fixed once it is done.
Monthly monitoring has no contract. For customers on the Zep Bilisim SEO and AI plans, measurement is included and not billed separately.
// Results we have delivered
The three cases below show what measurement reveals. We do not share client names without permission, so sector and scale are given instead; figures come from monthly measurements with the same question set. In all three the decision changed because of measurement data, and the next piece of work was planned from the recommendation list in the Zep Bilisim report.
- Insurance agency — Measurement showed a competitor mentioned in 31 of 40 questions while the brand appeared in none; missing topics were listed and mentions rose from 0 to 12 questions in 4 months
- Cosmetics brand — Gemini was still recommending a product line discontinued 3 years earlier; the source was found and corrected and the wrong information left the answers within 8 weeks
- Education provider — AI-driven visits were separated in analytics; 6% of total traffic turned out to come from ChatGPT and Perplexity, and budget was redistributed accordingly
Visibility that is not measured cannot be managed. AI answers change every day; a single try is an anecdote, not data.
// The team behind the work
Measurement is carried out by Caner Zep Çelik, founder of Zep Bilisim. As founder and technical consultant he has worked on search visibility, data analysis and web infrastructure since 2020 and has been involved in more than 100 projects. He builds the question set, the measurement method and the analysis himself and does not outsource the work.
The monthly report is written by the same person: question-level table, platform-level mention rate, competitor comparison and recommendation list. The report is prepared so it can be used directly in a marketing meeting and stays with you.
// When is it not needed?
If customer decisions in your sector are not put to an AI, for example in purely urgent and local needs, monthly monitoring is unnecessary; we say so plainly in the sample measurement and suggest a single measurement once a year. If you already buy an AI optimization plan, measurement is included in it; we do not sell it separately and say so in the quote.
If the site has no content worth citing, measurement shows zero; content comes first, then measurement, and we set that order accordingly.
Google's AI features documentation explains from the official source how source citations in AI Overviews are reported in Search Console; our measurement is cross-checked against that data.
// Frequently Asked Questions
That very variability is why every question is asked 3 times per measurement period and averaged; no single result is reported. Because the same question set, platforms and method repeat every month, month-to-month change is comparable. The report also shows the spread across the 3 measurements for each question and flags high variance.
You do, together with us. Questions customers ask before buying, sector terms and competitor comparison questions are grouped in three sets. Real queries from Search Console and customer service records are used as sources. The set is fixed after your approval; if you want to change it, the old set is measured in parallel for one more month to keep comparability.
The standard set is ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Bing Copilot. Claude or sector-specific assistants can be added by sector; extra platforms are priced separately. Because each platform answers differently, mentions and source citations are reported per platform; an overall score is also calculated and charted.
Yes; visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity and other platforms are separated by referrer and defined as a separate channel in your analytics account. Setup is included in the measurement plan. That way the report tracks on its own line whether AI visibility turns into real visits and form enquiries, and shows it to you.
On the same question set, competitors' mention rate and source citation frequency are reported side by side with yours; 3 competitors is standard. Which competitor is mentioned in which question and why is listed with the cited source page. That list is the basis of the recommendations: topics where a competitor is the source and you have no answer become priority content.
The monthly report's recommendation list says which question lacks which content, access fix or schema. Your own team can implement it, or you can hand it to us under the AI search optimization plan; measurement continues with the same method either way. The decision is yours and the report stays independent.
